摘要

在討論臺灣心理學之發展時，最終無法避開西方心理學之本質及其危機，過去臺灣心理學社群，比較缺乏針對這項問題進行批判與重建。本文之目的是嘗試以純粹與世俗的形式主義這項概念為主要線索，論述西方心理學為追尋穩固的知識基礎所歷經的五個可能階段。作者指出，熱望追求獨立之心理學，容易導致一種「既過度自限同時又過度概括」的陷阱。最後，作者依據哈伯馬斯對弗洛伊德之理解以及伯蘭尼之科學概念重建心理學之可能面貌。

THE SNARE OF FORMALISM IN WESTERN PSYCHOLOGY AND ITS RECONSTRUCTION

Abstract

When we discuss the development of psychology in Taiwan, we can't help facing the crises in western psychology. In the past, most of the psychologists in Taiwan neglected this problem. The purpose of this study is to discuss the five stages in development of western psychology by using the core concepts of pure formalism and vulgar formalism. The author pointed out an 'overlimited as well as overgeneralized snare' in the development of psychology. Finally, the author reconstructed the knowledge of psychology in accordance with the concepts of J. Harbermas and M. Polanyi.
